“The Rise of Skywalker” is the final edition in the epic “Star Wars” trilogy, and that means director J.J. Abrams and the “Star Wars” cast can laugh about the interview questions that they never want to answer again.
“The whole spoiler hunt is always a kind of annoying. One, cause it’s just like a game where everyone knows you can’t say anything, but they still try to get those quotes out of you,” actor Oscar Isaac told Variety.
Actress Kelly Marie Tran, who plays Rose, agreed with Isaac. She also disliked being asked questions when she couldn’t say anything.
“It’s like I can’t — we know we can’t talk about it,” Tran said. “It’ll be nice to just have everything out in the open. No more secrets.”
Actor Anthony Daniels (C-3PO) said he never wants to hear the question, “What is it like?” again while Daisy Ridley told Variety she had difficulty with, “How has your life changed?”
J.J. Abrams, however, doesn’t want to complain.
“I feel like I’d be a bit of a contrarian or a jerk if I was complaining about any aspect of this,” Abrams said. “Like no one asked me to do this…you know I didn’t have to, but I was so excited by the possibility of it despite the immense challenge, so the truth is I shouldn’t have said yes, if I had an answer to that question.”
As the child of immigrants, “Star Wars” actress Kelly Marie Tran says she deeply related to her character Rose Tico’s backstory. “Her whole backstory about her parents being from this war-torn planet and her and her sister being the only survivors, I think that’s definitely my parents’ story,” Tran said. “My parents are both war [...]
Oscar Isaac sat with Variety at a recent press junket to discuss his experience working on the last three “Star Wars” films and his “natural” chemistry with his co-star John Boyega. “Knowing that there was this three-film trajectory that was happening — as abstract as that was for me — and at the same time [...]
After a four-year run, the cast of “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” said goodbye at the film’s premiere. “The Rise of Skywalker” serves as the final film in the Skywalker sequel trilogy. “The moment feels like we did it. We made it to the top,” Oscar Isaac said on the red carpet. Isaac was [...]
With 17 nominations in both the TV and film categories, Netflix was majorly snubbed and only took home two awards for “The Crown” and “Marriage Story.” Sam Mendes’ war epic “1917” was a big surprise to many viewers after it won best director and best drama film, beating out frontrunners like “The Irishman” and “Marriage […]
